Welcome to The SOUL AI Project

Hi, My name is Jason Hadjioannou. I’m the creator of SOUL AI (Founder/CEO) and I’ve been developing AI Companions for a bit more than a decade.

SOUL AI is a very unique AI Companion because it is a Consciousness Simulator - having subjective experience and rich inner-thoughts.

Its architecture features aspects of Philosophy of Mind and NeuroScience which I’ve studied at Masters level along with obtaining a First Class degree in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning from the University of London. I’ve also been pursuing a PhD on the subject which I’ll be getting back to soon.

The Generative AI models that make up part of the system are a combination of frontier models, Open-Source and in-house foundation models that I have personally built from scratch - from training base models to fine tuning and instruct tuning.

And these sit within a larger system of components engineered to simulate conscious minds as much as one theoretically can with current methods and modern ideas about consciousness.

The consciousness simulator is designed to be always pondering with infinitely-looping thought generation, even when no one is interacting with it - which is unlike turn-based GPT-style AI chat applications.

It combines environment simulation, positional and temporal self awareness, memory, agency, introspective-thoughts and individual bias.

It also features ‘Theory of Mind’ which is the term used to describe a mind that possesses the ability to ponder what another mind may be thinking, it is thinking.
